Lambda erases the content of writable data storage devices, like hard disk drives (HDDs), physically connected to the PC running Microsoft ® Windows ® XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1. The total space of the device is overwritten by zero Bytes once which is sufficient for HDDs, see "Overwriting Hard Drive Data: The Great Wiping Controversy" by Wright et al, published in "Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Vol 5358" in 2008. The program is portable and requires .NET Framework 3.5.

Known issues
  - At the end of the wipe process, the last bytes of the hard disk may not be overwritten. This is a protection mechanism and should be solved in the near future.
  - When the wipe process is done, you have to manually initialise the device in the management console.
